Carrco Honored at the TEXO Distinguished Builders Awards for The Sinclair

At Carrco Painting, excellence isn’t just a goal—it’s the standard. That’s why we were incredibly proud to be recognized at the TEXO Distinguished Builders Awards in the Specialty Contractors – Interiors category for our work on The Sinclair, a landmark commercial construction project in the heart of the city.

Held annually by TEXO—the largest construction association in Texas and one of the most respected in the country—this event celebrates the best of the best in the commercial construction industry. It highlights projects and teams that go beyond expectations in craftsmanship, innovation, safety, and impact. To stand among such a distinguished group of general contractors and specialty trades was an honor. But more than that, it was a reflection of the grit, precision, and dedication our team brings to every job site.

The Sinclair: A Towering Achievement in Commercial Interiors

Transforming The Sinclair—a 1.2-million-square-foot, 49-story tower—was nothing short of monumental. Situated in one of the most dynamic urban areas in Texas, this high-rise had high stakes. Every square foot demanded perfection.

Our scope of work was vast and intricate, reflecting both the scale of the building and the client’s vision for excellence. With the project, we delivered:

  • 12,000+ gallons of premium commercial-grade paint, applied to strict finish specifications.
  • 14,300 boxes of joint compound, expertly finished to meet Level 5 drywall finish standards.
  • 9,735 linear feet of precision-installed wallcoverings, elevating the aesthetic impact of key interior spaces.

Each of these numbers represents more than just volume—they represent strategic planning, expert execution, and seamless coordination with general contractors, trade partners, and ownership teams.

From staging and sequencing to daily manpower adjustments and material deliveries, this project tested everything we know about delivering high-end interior finishes at scale. And our team rose to meet that challenge—every day, for months.

The Role of Specialty Contractors in Large-Scale Commercial Builds

Commercial construction is a symphony of specialties—structural steel, MEP systems, concrete, glazing, finishes—and it takes expert coordination to bring it all together. As a commercial painting and drywall contractor, our role often comes toward the latter stages of the project, but the impact we make is immediate and lasting. Paint, texture, wallcoverings, and finishing details are what occupants see and feel every day.

Being recognized in the Specialty Contractors – Interiors category is especially meaningful because it acknowledges the value and visibility of our work. It’s a reminder that craftsmanship matters. That finish quality matters. That the trades who work with brushes, mud knives, spray rigs, and wallcovering rollers are just as critical to a building’s success as those who pour foundations or erect structural steel.

How We Delivered Excellence on The Sinclair

Success on a complex project like The Sinclair is not accidental—it’s built from the ground up, with planning, communication, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Here’s how we brought our A-game:

1. Preconstruction Precision

We partnered with the general contractor early in the preconstruction phase to review specs, clarify finishes, and build out a realistic scope and schedule. Our estimating and project management team used industry-leading takeoff tools and project management software to ensure nothing was missed.

2. Field Execution at the Highest Level

From surface preparation to final touch-ups, our field crews and foremen worked with unmatched attention to detail. We deployed specialized teams for drywall finishing, texture, painting, and wallcovering—each with specific training and oversight.

Our quality control procedures included daily walkthroughs, multi-point checklists, and collaborative punch list management to stay ahead of issues and maintain schedule alignment with the general contractor and other trades.

3. Manpower and Scheduling Mastery

With a project of this size, labor coordination is critical. Our team flexed staffing in real time—ramping up during peak phases and shifting teams to other Carrco jobsites when needed to maintain balance and reduce bottlenecks.

This flexibility is only possible because of our commitment to building and maintaining a skilled, reliable workforce. We invest in ongoing training, leadership development, and safety certifications, ensuring that every Carrco painter, taper, and wallcovering installer is equipped to deliver.

4. Safety and Clean Execution

Safety is non-negotiable in commercial construction. On The Sinclair, we worked alongside the general contractor to uphold strict jobsite safety standards, including daily safety huddles, site-specific training, and detailed lift and ladder protocols.

But safety is not just about compliance; it’s about culture. Our crews worked clean, stayed organized, and took pride in maintaining a professional work environment, even during high-intensity phases of the schedule.

Recognition That Reflects Our Core Values

Winning a TEXO Distinguished Builders Award is more than a trophy, it’s a reflection of how we live out our company values every day:

  • Be a Finisher – We didn’t just start strong at The Sinclair—we delivered, down to the last detail. From punch lists to final walkthroughs, we were there until the job was done right.
  • Create Opportunity – This project provided valuable growth opportunities for both seasoned leaders and emerging talent on our team. From lead foremen to new apprentices, every person walked away with new skills and deeper confidence.
  • Make a Difference – The Sinclair isn’t just a building—it’s a future hub for work, life, and community. Knowing we helped bring that space to life, and that our finishes will be part of people’s daily experience, makes it all worthwhile.
  • Keep Our Word – On a job of this complexity, consistency and communication are everything. We stayed transparent, hit our milestones, and backed up every commitment with action.

What This Means for Carrco—and What’s Next

Recognition at the TEXO Distinguished Builders Awards is a proud moment—but it’s also fuel for what’s next. The commercial construction landscape continues to evolve, with growing demand for innovation, labor excellence, and schedule discipline. Clients expect more. General contractors rely on performance-driven partners. And cities are growing faster than ever.

Carrco Painting is ready for all of it.

With each project, we’re not just applying paint, we’re building trust, elevating standards, and proving that specialty trades are leaders in their own right.
